Background
Keyhole Limpet Hemocyanin (KLH), derived from the marine mollusk Megathura crenulata, is a highly immunogenic T cell-dependent model antigen widely employed in immunotoxicology. Upon immunization of mice with KLH, a robust antigen-specific humoral response is elicited. Compared with IgM, anti-KLH IgG exhibits a later onset but a higher peak titer and a more sustained response, rendering it more sensitive to immunosuppressive agents. Consequently, anti-KLH IgG serves as a reliable biomarker for assessing humoral immune competence.
